A trip to Sishupal parvat.

On the afternoon time my friend Vineet  called about the trip. I was in office doing my day to day office work. The search began also with some tints of excitation. He was really excited about the bike ride and said about the place named  Sishupal, Saraipali which was around 70 to 80 km from Bargarh. Also he said about confirming me about the Ride and if yes then an early morning ride should be there.

There was no off road riding as done  before going to Debrigarh wildlife Sanctuary. But a straight  road upto Saraipali chowk. So as usual we started on the morning at around 6 30 pm. By riding we reached Sohela around 7 25 am. As my friend felt something was wrong with his bike and he need to check his tyre. The location was 4 kms from lohurachati. Then we reached Saraipali chowk  exactly  around 8 am.

We took a left turn after passing the Chhattisgarh Border after some distance. By asking some locals about the hill we took the turn and then rode our way into the village. So there was not much to see but you need to take some fruits along with you like apples, banana etc.

The after taking some photos we rode along and reached the parking lot around 8 45 am. After then we started our trekking to uphill. On the way I met my graduation friend Subrajit  Jena, we chatted for a while and then we moved. They brought all the eatables along with them like chicken and utensils to cook. Yeah it’s a good idea but there are also some wild animals so you need to aware of the risks which you are taking, apart from that nothing needs to be worried.

My friend Vineet is really a photo crazy person; within the same spot he will take uncountable number of photos.  In that hard afternoon the Sun rays can’t push him to the shades as he will be busy taking photos. So, after some photos of me and his we decided to return from the hill, there is also a Shiva Temple which you all may pay a visit.

So, after descending from the hill slowly we met some travelers talking about some Wild Bear. Then we got cautious and I made a stick out of the hanging roots of the trees. So my friend asked the small children to shout and walk so scare the bear away.  After coming to the nearby small shops we ate some biscuits and samosha and heard that there was a small dam nearby. We felt restless and then we went to the Parking lot where we met Mr. Shankar who introduced about the Hill, Mandir and some issues around the place. After that we returned through the same route and I  reached my home around 12 30 pm.

Sudhir

Aapkhol Waterfall, dated 18.10.2020

It was the first Sunday morning at Bargarh. Though there was no planning but my friend vineet already intimated on Friday that, see Sudhir we will be ready on Sunday morning are you? He said about a place which Nalichuan which lies in place called Amabhona, which is 25 kms from Bargarh. The water fall name is Aapkhol which is 10 kms off road ride.

By residing in Bargarh from childhood I knew there were many hideouts from the local town.  So he urged me to take a cut from my busy schedule and have a grasp of fresh air of the locality. These were his exact words “hey bo ena bhi ete bhal bhal jaga mane ache tui dekhi nei thibu” which means that hey here also there are so much exciting places are there that you may not have seen. I had to edit my manuscript also as the publisher also repeatedly asking me to send the manuscript.

Finally, we talked about getting out early in the morning at 5:30 am on Sunday. The day before the travel I slept early. Tick tock and the night passed on, my eyes opened on 5 am on Sunday. I got ready and on my part tried to finish my day to day work early. After I have been transferred from my previous place of posting this was my first travel into the forests of Bargarh.

On 5:30 am I messaged him and he replied that he will soon be ready as his other friend niru had just called about being ready. On ….. …am my friend vineet called said  “hela kein bo, ” which means that is everything done, are you ready, we are in Dang chowk at Bargarh, reach as soon as possible. I said I am on my way will be reaching there in 8 minutes.

Dominar 400 my bike snored with his engine and I reached the dang Chowk within minutes as in morning there was no traffic. I met the other guy Niru we three departed from the location. As Vineet termed it “ we looked as we are on Alien invasion”.

Through the road of Khedapali to the Bhatli and then Amabhona the GPS really helped us to track the exact path. Network these days becomes an important asset, otherwise in every chowk the local betel shops would be our milestone. That’s also interesting don’t you think.

The off track roads were not so dangerous but you need to be cautious while riding by bike. There will be very much difficult. We took our snacks like Biscuits, cakes and water bottles from home also Vineet bought one on the Bhatli Village. I recommend my viewers to bring water bottle from home only as the less we use the one time things the more the better.

We rode some 8 to 10 kms in to the forests and there were the touring video. Vineet was some kinda excited to ride the bike with some off roading video capturing. We both captured each others videos.

We parked our bikes there some steps earlier and then the time came of the beautiful water fall Aapkhol. We crossed some path of the stream which was dominant during the rainy days and gone to the Upside of the waterfall. Vineet  with all his postures captured every angle of the beauty. Whenever you visit the mountains, wherever they may be with their blessing green carpets of forests they just refill you with the refreshing energy of freshness.

After clicking some shots on the upward side of the waterfall, we walked to the downside. And then came the beautiful view of the water fall. On one side it looked like a deposition of water like a pond and on other side the water stream was getting into itself into the groundwater. It felt like coming from the far mountains it had some duty to do like replenishing the ground water table.

Here we waited for some time and ate some of the snacks which we had brought with us. I spotted that there are many garbage like poly bags and wrappers which were thrown in the open thus pollutes the beautiful landscape. We urged through our video also that not to throw garbage here and there and also I request all the readers that not to throw any stuffs outside, if you have a bag then take it with you and dispose it in a dustbin wherever you find it.

It was about 8 am and then we decided to go to another waterfall. When we travelled across the dark jungles we  spotted some ant hills and be careful when you walk through. After that Vineet said that he is not feeling so good to track and  the other guy also said to me like that. We so decided to return. As it is a wildlife sanctuary so there may be any wildanimals for which you need to be cautious. And also don’t travel alone you should have some experienced person and if your team are not feeling good then it’s better to return. I have heard many stories like the one that some family were stuck inside and some wild animal chased some old person and by sliping on the path his head struck a rock and he died, and many more some were published in the print media also.

So after all the discussion we returned. The enjoyment of also off road bike ride was fulfilled. It was around 10 am and we decided to hault in nearby dhaba for some snacks. But beware don’t haul in the …this dhaba. The food were lillte bit good little bit bad  like we ordered chilly chicken and he brought some shitty dish. Vineet wished for a drink but there were only one so we divided in the hour of need of some juice as we were feeling thirsty. It was about 11: 30 am as we grabbed some snacks and also talked about the beauty and also our day to day life stuffs. As the other guy Niru was getting late so we decided to return to our home. I dropped both of them at the Dang chowk Bargarh and  accelerated my bike for a grasp of tea, yeah in the afternoon and reached home at  1: 30 pm. So, this is all it.

A moment into adobe of Clouds - " Meghalaya"

A Trip to the  Meghalaya :-

Just writing after like 1 year friends,

On 23rd June the Flight ticket was booked of Passengers Mr. Manoj Nayak and   Mr. Vikas Bahetwar from Kolkata to Guwahati with the arrival date having 12th Jul 2019. Actually Gouranga was also ready for a trip to Meghalaya. My Scheduled departure was 09:25 pm IST from New Coochbehar to Guwahati KaNCHANJUNGA express which will reach on morning near about 4 am at GHY.

I had prepared the travelled itinerary of what to do list:-

1.       Day 1 at shillong.

2.       Day 2 will be waking up early t Cherrapunji, nearby sightseeing and all,

3.        Mawlynlong and all the nearby local seeing,

4.       Day 4- return from 11 30 am from there to Guwahati

In Between Manoj was little bit unsatisfied with the plan. He said that, “ Sudhir make sure that we reach Guwahati on 15th Forenoon. I then said Manoj, Dear leave it to me it will all go well.

I have given them a to take list which consisted of following items:-

1.       Raincoats,

2.       Tablets if you have an ongoing fever,

3.       Mobile Charger and powerbank if you have any.

4.       Biscuits and Mixtures to eat wherever in case you need it for yourself.

5.       Toothbrush and Tooth paste.

6.       Glucose, as for trekking.

7.       Warm clothes and towels.

8.       Shirt  and  Trousers as per your requirements.

9.       Soap & Soap Paper

10.   Odomus.

My Guwahati Train reached exactly on time. But theirs train got delayed by 5 hours and so do their scheduled Departure from Kolkata Airport.  Both of them reached Guwahati at around 3:00 am. The Driver who was chosen was always in mood for a fight. So, after half an hour we had lunch at some random nearby dhaba. Then we talked about the rates mentioned but he seemed pretty unhappy about it.  He said that he cannot drive to Cherrapunji Suddenly, So said that, the next driver will come at Shillong and he will pick us up.

I connected from our online Backpackers group. I posted in the Facebook page about a trip to Meghlaya, then from the comments I found numbers and comments, then I planned to connect with Sylvia Bella  Lyngdoh . But the total confusion arose as Sylvia couldn’t booked the right driver. There was a total miscalculation guys, need to caution you first of all clear about the TAXi whether the AC will go on or off,  how much advance is to be given, is that for travel or also lodging and food ?

The next driver arrived and then he exchanged  and there was a tussle about the rates, about the turning on of AC. Because we thought that the AC would be included, but as per him it was not said specifically, God knows what he wanted. After that we took another car consulted by him and then we got ready for cherrapunji. The mists was so much and the fog lamps of the car weren’t working. We took it slowly and searched the travelers cottage as mentioned by Sylvia.

With such an experience, thought of never coming here second time, guys while booking be clear about all the things before booking anything.

We reached the Travellers cottage around 10:22 pm.

13.07. 19

Morning, I actually work up early at 4 55 am and went for a little walk-around, I then called the Softender who was from the same travelers group and as he couldn’t come at night, he came in the morning I think around 8 am. After some small discussions the craziness was on the Top and we started from the Homestay from 9 00 am, this time friend Softender helped.

We started and then there was the main attraction Double decker root bridge. Seven sisters Falls was nearby 4 kms when you will return from the Step point of Double decker Root Bridge. The mousami Caves were also on the same route.

From morning to the evening one thing never stopped the small tiny droplets of rain.

The Double decker root bridge comprised of almost 7500 steps, and we took only 3 hours 15 mins to complete the whole path. At first one of my friend Vikash told me that “Yaar the depth is so much it’s so much a scary looking from the top. Some Railings which were made on the sides of the footsteps were comfortable.

Deep down the steps there were so much hard clouds clouds covering the stairs.  It was really difficult to see, but somehow we managed to step down slowly. The was a dialogue from the movie URI like How’s the Josh, we yelled and shouted to ignite ourshelves.

The main aim of umbrellas were not to get wet, but the very well drizzled  rain droplets were so much attractive that you can’t be saved from it.

At last it’s like hey I can’t tell the exact time but it took something like 50 minutes or may be more, one thing I wanna tell you that have some water with you.  The Root bridge was so beautiful and more beautiful was the splashing water.

We clicked some pics and after that returned and gave the guide Rs 400.

After that it was time for 7 sisters falls and mousami caves where we have some lunch which felt so much delicious as we have worked out too much. After the stunning delicious food we headed back to the cottage and then to Shillong.

This time the driver was nice and he helped us by arranging another driver to Shillong. The faboulous songs  with the beautiful landscapes can’t leave you, it’s like the Meghalaya is taking care of every emotion of you. You all may see through  the Google maps but due to single road a little jam you all have to encounter. And one more spot to hold Umiam lake. But we guys just couldn’t take the fun of boat ride due to time and patience.

So, in the journey only the driver arranged a hostel for us with minimum amount, which was affordable for three of us. We reached the hostel around 9 pm.

14/07/2020

Morning I woke up at 6:15 am actually which was too hard. Outside it was raining so heavily. The at somewhat around 9 am we got ourselves ready.

The first point was word’s lake, shillong

Next was The cathedral, then  Shillong Peak and some more local attractions and returned to the hostel.

The followings were some of the travel fare:-

1)      Taxi Cherrapunji to Shillong- 2500

2)       Taxi Shillong to Guwahati- 3000

3)      Per head total – Only Rs 6893.

On 15 th July 2019, From morning we became ready for Guwahati. And lastly had a darshan at kamakshya Temple.

A trip to Kalimpong

10 november 2019 was the date when a day before yesterday A friend of mine from  Coochbehar called me. His name was Subroto Ray who lived in Pundibari, a place near the main sadar of Coochbehar. The cochbehar is famous for it’s main attraction Rajbari, Raja’s Palace.

This friend for whom I am taking about he is primary school teacher and also whenever he get’s time to relax he sets up a plan for a ride. Previously we had been to nearby Chilapata forests with him and to some local places.

So, a day before yesterday he actually called me regarding a plan a bike trip to  Kalimpong.   I searched about the city in google and found that :-

“Kalimpong is an east Indian hill town in the Himalayan foothills of West Bengal.  Perched on a Ridge above the Teesta River, it’s a home to colonial-era buildings like MacFarlane Memorial Church, named  after a Scottish Missionary, South, the hilltop Durpin Monastry or Zang Dhok Palri Phodang, contains sacred Buddhist Scriptures. Deolo Park has landscaped gardens and offers views of the town and surrounding hills.”

Saturday was little bit less work so we met at the Sagardighi, coochbehar  to plan out the trip actually it was 190 kms from Coochbehar  and decided that next morning we have to wake-up early and go through the Malbazaar route and will use gps where it will be needed.

I switched on my alarm and slept. The next morning, I woke up at 5: 00 am and called him at  5:15 am. He was an early riser so there was not much difficulty to wake him up. So I picked up my optimus prime my Dominar 400. So from the residence of dentist I came out for a new safar( tour). Reached his house at around 6:00 am the tune within in my ears was listening to the hindi song  “Illahi mera jihaeaieai.”

He asked me that have you eaten anything ? I said no he brought with him 4 boiled eggs for morning breakfast . We all were ready for the bike trip  with some speed with my domi. Then we have planned actually to cross falakata within 1 hour, then falakata  to Birpara. But actually I ride my bike a little bit slow by which it took actually 1 hour to reach falakata. Subroto reminded me that yaar hum log thoda late chal rahe hein.  After reaching Birpara  we ride straight to Telipara chowk  and then turned eight side for Chalsa  through the Chapramari Wildlife forests  came the Gorubathan  with average speed of 90 km per hour.  After reaching Chalsa then the route was for Malbazar. ////////////………..

One thing I would tell that the while riding the bike it felt awesome what the feeling is I can’t just describe in words. The sky is so blue, that it felt as if the environment of tea gardens have kept the air of refreshness for our arrival only. Though there was  arrival of Bulbul for which it may rain but while riding through the slopes there was the mist.

But I need to say that the journey was really very exciting but If you are a new rider then don’t go through this either  take any experience rider with you or either take any taxi. So after a ride of around 4 hours  we reached  Lava Monestry   where we roamed for a while. I purchased the Buddhist bike flag and we tried to understand their rituals as there was some kinda performance which were going on while we visited the monastery. There we clicked some pictures, special one was that where my friend urged me to click  some special kind of pictures, after  clicking the pictures  I laughed then said “what an idea Sirji”

Seeming with the view I halted or rather saying I was trying to remember a famous poem. But Let’s go was the call both from the time and alsofrom Subroto.  Then we arrived at the gate where our id cards ,the bike and mobile number had been noted. And after that we ride towards the Niara Valley Forest. The sideways Rhododendron  were really made the scenery.  You all may take pictures anywhere here. After a ride of 5-6 hours finally reached our destination Kalpakkam nearabout 1 :00 pm .  As the Thailand Valley Home stay was prebooked and we hadn’t any difficulties regarding any accommodation.

As soon as we reached we choose our favorite room  to sleep. Then Subroto said, “ yaar Sudhir we should ordered our lunch. We called the didi to cook some boiled Rice, dal allu chokha, mix sabji, egg curry.

After finishing the lunch we asked them what is the nearby sights to see, then they told us about chengi waterfalls, which was some trek to the downward side which will take approximately 1 hour to cover.

Which was breathless walk somewhere it was upright up and was down steep somewhere. If you are facing any difficulty to walk or trek in the rocky hills  then don’t forget to take a stick with you, it will be better.

On our  way of return we took some drinks to make our evening. We on reaching our homestay ordered some evening snacks like Pakoda  and coffee.

After that we had our dinner Rosti, Chicken, egg curry, salad and as there was so chilled outside inspite of that with shivering talk about the environment passed our luxurious time. Subroto and I discussed about some economics and geography of the place with the beautiful landscape looked as if someone had put the stars on the ground.

Then, after this discussion we slept to take a morning ride to Coochbehar. Breakfast was Black tea, puri and Sabji. We refilled our lungs with the freshness and then got ready. On the way down we witnessed some everbeauty of Sunrise  by stopping the bike at the downhill. So majestic was the view.

Then the same route we followed and returned to Coochbehar around 1 or 2:00 pm the next day.

Thank  you guys,

#Darjeelingdiaries

hi guys,

Lo chala mei unn pahadiyon ke beech, dwarpalon swarg ke jaa kar khabar kar do,
Raste kuch seedhi kuch tedimedi,
Mantramugdh karati

The hissing sound of small train echoed my ear, and I waited for her,
it's really a heaven,
she's a desperation for a sight sore eyes,
A relief from the same daily schedule, and went straight up to the hills.

It was the month of Jan., and suddenly I called one of my batchmate that are you free? He replied that yes,I will. So, I got my bags packed, with some biscuits and muffins. No, reservation, no prebooking and boarded on a train at somewhat 9:00pm. The ordinary compartment was full of people, and there was no single leg space. I have to stand for approx 1 and 1/2 hr, till one congested seat or space be available. How I slept, it was difficult to tell, the morning I woke up and met an old guy who took VRF from his previous job and practises Organic farming in his home village. We exchanged numbers and then I left for Autostand. Hey, Gauranga, I was calling him. Actually, I was confused about Junction, is it Siliguri Junction or the NewJalpaiguri Junction. I got refreshed somehow at Siliguri Junction, still, there was a doubt. But when he told me that geographically I am right, a sense of relief was there, as the network was poor. At last, my wait was over, 'aakhir aa hi gaya'. I told him," sale itna late. Then we took a government bus and headed towards the heaven hills, Isn't it rhyming alliteration that's what we call it. It was a day of republic, the whole city was decorated. I heard some patriotic songs, and saw some children in uniforms marching with passion. We crossed the chowk and entered into the defence area. The tea garden seemed as if someone had put a green mat. Then came the turns some U-type, some zig-zag, roads and the mountains, after 40 min at 10:30 am, we took a tea break. Then through twists and turns, hills beautifully carved roads, we reached Darjeeling at 12:05 pm. We booked a lodge and got ready for local sightseeing, the Hill park, Tea garden, Bethnic school, Tenzing climbing and bought some well seasoned tea leaves. wow what an aroma it spreaded. Then, we visited the Japanese temple, and we took the small drum kept for us and went with the beat mentored by the Priest. So, much peace was it. At evening, we planned to go to market, but it was cancelled. so, then we returned.

An island for Nomadics, Bakkhali

Hi guys,
Sometimes you feel like wanna escape and nobody would be chasing you especially your past and the fear for the coming future. Really no plans, no itinerary but before one day decided to go to the land of Mangroves.

It was before the second Saturday, a holiday in government offices. I work in a PSU, posted at Kalyani, nearly 60 km from Kolkata, India. I reached Namkhana via local from Sealdah at 12:15 am. Actually, I was planning to stay the night at Bakkhali but the crime stories of the old man in the local really scared me. But it would be safer to rely on it. With an empty stomach, I desperately needed something to eat and rice dal and some veg gravy and also some chappatis. Really the quote
" Success is countest sweetest by those who never succeed" by Emily Dickinson
was an appropriate for my situation. I had no option and the kid there insisted me to stay in the hut, it was little uneasy, yeah that was like a blessing in disguise. There was much crowd as there was the Purnima Gangasagar Festival and devotees from all over India came to cherish it. The kid was overwhelmed as we totally enjoyed our little chats and also the ludo, so was the family. It felt like these small moments of joy, a small smiling inquisitive mind eagerly chatting let you forget all the bad turnouts of your life.

At morning nearly 5:30 am, I talked with another guy and left early without waking others up.
To the Jumbo Island
I went towards  Ghat where I had to cross the river to get to Bakkhali Bus stand. I have to board the bus to Fazurganj. On reaching there, I came to know that single travellers are not allowed. Then, I had to take permission from the local P.S. and came to know that this place was a Suicidal point and the local administration had made out this rule. A sub-inspector on knowing me as an officer helped me with hotel facilities. The hotel was good Chutti. Then I got refreshed and booked a Toto, the small battery vehicle for Fazurganj, Henry and Jumbo Island, what we all call it local sightseeing. At Jumbo Island, there were four of us. the other three were not sure about the amount to be paid and I paid the rest of the amount. we all joined for the boat trip. The compass helped us in direction. About 1 and1/2 hour we stayed in the midst of the sea, the Bay of Bengal got a lot of shiner Silver by the reflection rays from the Sun. The breeze was even lot chiller in the winter.
But one thing lacked if you ever been to a place like this, you need to extra cash because of I ran out of money and only two ATMs were there which actually didn't work, so I have to swipe my card at some local shop and take a handful amount of cash. The very next morning, I returned with some memories, adventures and made some new friends. It was awesome and amazing moments, the locals were good and ahhah forgot to mention that I went for a bike ride all by myself but was not rented but a different Tripping.

journey to city of Jodhpur. #Jodhpurdiaries

hi guys,

how you all are doing, do you feel like squeezing from inside, then you need a break, some hangouts, a new town, some new places. So, finally, the lazy minds decided to go out on a trip. location was yet to be decided, Random sampling included Agra, Rishikesh and The Blue City Jodhpur, and Jodhpur won the title. I with 5 Siddharth, Kishore, Gouranga, Satish and Lavanya all were excited about this wonderful journey on 30th of Sept,2017. It was 6:30 pm but I slept due to exhausted feeling from the class. Bags packed but still, there is always in mind like something you had left.
The Unmad Palace
Left our training centre and boarded the metro from M.G. Road, Gurugram. It was 7:30 pm checked and the Big clock at Old Delhi Railway station showed us. We all had dinner at the Mc Donald's in the railway station. My seat was not confirmed, yeah little bit discomfort, but was ok. Snacks were finished and we landed in the city of Padmavati. The taxi came around 9 am and we all were ready to take a ride. It was decided that first, we all finish the local sightseeing then we will go to the Tent house. We visited The Unmad Palace, then Mehrangarh Fort, and were like lost in the huge structures. Beautiful isn't it," said I to Kishore. There were no words left to furnish the well-crafted inscriptions and designs. We sat under the shadow of a tree and breathe the air, so refreshing but it was pretty hot outside, from the top the city looked like a blue ocean. we were in search of a Tent house to rest in. But due to the deception of the agent, we got it all wrong. Kishore told us that he chatted with the agent that he confirmed a tent house but unfortunately, nothing like such was there, the deserthaveli@gmail.com I think was a fraud. One thing was good and that was the Innova for which we paid Rs 7000. It was 5:30 pm and we not yet found a good lodging. Lavanya told that we should rest in the hotel, but Kishore point was that it useless to live in a hotel room than in Tent.
and
We searched heaven and hell for the tent house and the folk music and dance programmes. It was like 9:30 pm and still hope was there. Through the guidance of locals, we anyway reached Ocean Sand dunes Hotel. We settled the price and asked him for the desert safari and then found the appropriate Tents. Wow, amazing, the hotel owner asked us to get refreshed for dinner. we dinned on the table. then the Locals with some musical instruments came. We enjoyed and also when she took me to dance, I performed the famous sambalpuri dancing steps, they all joined me. Don't know how the restlessness turned into pleasurable moments.
The Merhangarh Fort
Next day, we woke up for the Camel safari and excited to go through the up and down topography. It was half an hour as decided, but how time went on, we didn't, know, the cold sand was getting hotter minute by minute. Kishore was trying to catch as much as he can through his DSLR. Then the camel owner insisted us to return and we agreed after some more selfies.

We then returned to the hotel for slight breakfast and had some lovely chat with some foreigners. The boy was from Portugal and She was Spanish. We exchanged our id's and she gave a good review of the City, which matters a lot to me as an Indian. Then we all got refreshed to take another journey in the landscape with all our bags packed. The hotel owner told us about some temples and others and checked out from the hotel at 11:20 am. We then in the midway saw a vendor insisting us to go for jeep safari. We bargained the price and then we went for a ride. Oh my God, anxiety was pumping within our heart and minds. It was sometimes more intense to go down. and going up was like we are about to slip through the steep slopes. Then after that, went to some park, I don't remember the name actually. It was beautiful, oh no tick- tock the watch tells us and we decided not to go for the boat ride.
In the afternoon, we went to the market for some local shopping and bus tickets. I
boarded the bus, thought it would be a Volvo sleeper, but yeah not so bad. We slept and it was 7:00 am morning in Gurugram.
